Hello people

I have been helping a mate wire up his Locost with a sierra twin cam single carb motor and have come across a problem . there is a black box with motorguard on it that has a vacuum hose going into it , plugs into a sensor on the block near the fly wheel , a few wires going to sensors and is connected to the coil system.
I have been told it is a ignition module .

I would like to know what it dose and how it should be wired up but I can't find any info on the net even the motorguard number gets no hits on the web .

Please help

I did post about this a few weeks ago but I just cant seem to find any info on it.

Any info would be great !

Cheers

I'm not surprised that "Motorguard" doesn't get great results doing a search.

It actually says Motorcraft.

Maybe try that ?

Hi
I also used this engine in my car (but with twin carbs.
You guessed correct, it is the ignition module, but it also drives the stepper motor on the idle control.
The sensors are all pretty straightforward.
ie. crank pos, coolant temp & a pipe for the map sensor in the module.
The Haynes manual has a circuit diagram of this ecu

Thanks Paul

I'll be having a go at setting it up tonight.
