Here's aZX12R on e-bay to keep your eye on.

Or a Busa engine also on e-bay

Then there's also Mal from Yorkshire Engines

That engine is very good value for money, although the A1 engine did have a few issues with the clutch.

The 2000 & 2001 ZX12R clutches lacked oiling. This was rectified in 2002 when the inner clutch hub and basket were re-designed. The oiling issues sometimes caused the clutch hub to break and/or clutch baskets to explode. The inner hub of 2002 models onwards has more holes drilled which improved oiling.

Which probably means that if you buy an '00 or '01 motor it could be rectified by using a later basket?

Yes, you can resolve the clutch issues by using a later hub and basket but neither of these two components are cheap. There were also other improvements made on the later B models.
