A problem at every step!!
Managed to fit up all the rad pipes and all was dandy, tried the midsection cover (the piece of fibreglass that covers the front of the drivers bay)
and the expansion tank is about 5 mm to high!! BUT IT NEEDS TO BE THAT HIGH FOR THE THERMOSTAT!!!!! GAAHHHHHH!!!!!! 
One Idea I have had is would it be ok for IVA to cut a hole big enough for the expansion cap to come through the fibreglass? (RED ARROW)
Any other ideas people?

Why does it have to go there? can you not fit one to the flat panel behind the thermostat? So long it is just above the thermostat it will bleed out

There isnt any flat panels behind the thermostat :/, its really only the place that it has room/can be mounted

I may be missing something but as you look at the engine on the right is the thermostat housing, behind that there appears to be a flat fiberglass
panel part of the bit you have arrowed in red. From the picture that is where I would mount it.
You could also post on Bristolkit cars website, where you will find a guy called dave Bench who built one of these with w K series engine, he may have
a solution

Ahh i See what you mean now, i wanted to keep the reservoir on the chassis so I could take the fiberglass piece off whenever I needed too. Ok thanks,
I think I have seen his blog on the building of it, thanks for reminding me

Just looked at his blog and the engine he has sits on the drivers side where as the series I have the inlet/exhaust manifold where he mounted it

The expansion tank can actually be slightly lower than the header tank, not ideal but as long as you have a fill point at the thermostat you will get
away with

I dont mind having it where it is i was just wondering whether I can cut a hole in the fiberglass part to have the cap out the top, if its ok with IVA
as it wont really be in my field of vision

Any chance of steam\boiling water spraying over your face?
You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a

That's an awful place for it.
If it boils over you'll cook your legs and the fuse box.
I had boiling water pour into my passengers compartment and that was bad enough. Hicost nearly lost his life on a track day when his heater pipe came
off and burnt his legs. He had no choice but the keep braking and ended up in hospital.
Please rethink the location of that bottle

Thats what im doing now, just a bloody pain in the arse!! one step forward 90 back . Thank you for the advice though .
There's almost no room in the engine compartment, thats the problem, going to look for somewhere to put it though
