not sure why this would be very hard since there is the picture of the VW. The kit car hardly looks damaged at all, weekend job if that to sort

I think his point is more that a) the at-fault car is identifiable and b) at least it's an easy fix and no-one was likely hurt. I don't think he was trying to make it seem like it wasn't a problem...

Vehicle (VW) comes at being MoT'd, but not taxed, on the DVLA site. Hopefully it's insured and (hopefully) it's registered so the driver can be found, hopefully that driver has a licence.

Having suffered from 3 hit-and-runs when motorcycling, very few of the above held up, it made recourse difficult (my experience only).
