mnr throttle help
jlayton - 1/4/14 at 06:27 PM

I bought a r1 fuel injected mnr vortx last week, and it don't seem to pull at all. iv gone all over it and basically the throttle cable where it meets the accelerater pedal only moves 1/2" before it hits the diagonal chassic rail in the drivers foot well. so on full throttle is more like 1/4. anybody have any ideas

cheers

Move the pedal so theres no restriction?

Did you buy it without driving/passengering in it? Surely you would have noticed it was sluggish on a test drive?

was a passenger and only went round an industrial estate and cant move the pedal box as the dual master cyclinders for the brakes are all fixed

Can you post some pics? On mine the throttle pedal wasnt anywhere near the brake pedal box....

I had the same problem due to the s2000 gearbox being so wide, have a look here -> Link of what I did.

Is it the diagonal at the bottom of the foot well? If so it sounds like the cable either needs adjusting to let the pedal sit further away giving more available travel. Or the cable outer may have dislodged from the adjuster pulling the cable tighter than it should be. Should be a fairly easy fix.

If you can disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle linkage on the engine. Next try revving the engine by twisting the throttle linkage. If it revs up like it should then it's your cable that is the problem

all the throttle cable is fine, il try and get some pictures up today. the problem is the person who has built it has mounted the pedal box over to the right so when you press the throttle (1/2" where the throttle cable joins the pedal right at the bottom, that's the piece hitting the diagonal chassis rail
