More radiator help please ?

Just when you think things are going along nicely another problem pops up !! Well I didn't really examine the polo radiator and I just ordered a heat sensor that I thought would screw into the radiator .well when the sensor came it was a mile out from fitting ! The thread was 10mm diameter and I measured the thread in the radiator and that is about 20mm diameter .I've looked on eBay for sensors with 20 mm diameter thread and can't find any ! Just wonder what's going on ?can anybody help me out please ? Cheers .

Think they're M22 thread in the VW rads. There are a number of different sensors with various switching temps.

Yep as Adi says, M22 thread and I used the ST170 temp sensor which is on @103 off at 96 degrees
