Hi, will VOSA accept the letter I, this is what is stamped into my chassis

More to the point will they accept your VIN?
I understood that you cannot make your own any more?
Check though just in case it's usual dvla wankiness!

hi no you can not make up your own vin # if you write a covering letter explaining what you are building, its donor or parts from various sources (if you don't mind a Q plate) and that once complete that it will require an iva test, and for this it will require a vin number. As such could you please supply one.

she will send an aknolagement and then the number with some paperwork for after the iva. hope this helps. Donna deals with these matters and it saves it disappearing into the depths of dvla.

Just got mine from DVLA it took 4 weeks

Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016
