owelly - 24/6/14 at 09:31 PM

I've lifted these words off PPC and Retro Ford Magazines website:

PPC IN THE PARK
MALLORY PARK

BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND SUN 24TH AUGUST

Practical Performance Car magazine’s show for all petrolheads is returning to Mallory Park for the fifth year and it’s getting better with age. The essence of the show is track action with as wide a range of cars as possible. All contained in a busy paddock where your can mix with the cars, drivers and trade. Highlights will include

15 minute track sessions available (noise restriction of 95dB limit)
PPC feature cars display
Club stands bookings
Trade Demo day – book a slot to demo your car to potential customers
Trade Stands
Rolling road shootout
Autotest
Autojumble
Fair rides
Hover craft rides on the lake in the paddock!
Camping (Sat and Sun)
Evening entertainment, music, BBQ, Beer tent (Sun)
Soapbox racing (Sun evening) on Mallory circuit this year at PPC in the Park. Rules will be coming soon so get planning, but think of Bart Simpson's race with an added slalom section so we can call it a Soap Dodgers Race and you've got the idea.

And I'll add my tuppeneths worth:
For those who have been to the previous PPCintPark events, this year looks to be bigger and better with the added attraction of having the Retro Ford Show the following day. There are also more 'family stuff' to do with fairground rides and stuff.
For me, the event starts as soon as I park up, light the BBQ and crack open the first beer! This will be on the Saturday evening. There will be plenty of like-minded folks to natter to (and raid thier BBQs). The show itself is in Mallory Parks paddock so you can wander about the cars and enjoy the stalls and stands.
The trackday sessions are by no means the cheapest way to do a full day of track-time, but they will be segregated into skill levels. This is to help novices to take the plunge and have a go!

Anyone booking tickets and track time should mention my name. You won't get any freebies but I may get some free track time which I usually end-up giving away when my car breaks or fails noise testing...

See you all there?

Yeah, normally go to PPC in the park.

bi22le - 28/7/14 at 11:56 AM

Am I reading this right?

PPC has been cancelled?

Surely this news warrents its own title and post!!!

samjc - 28/7/14 at 06:54 PM

Emailed them but no reply. Would have been my first time was looking to make a weekend of it all.

I believe the new owners of Mallory Park couldn't agree to some things that PPC wanted and the previous owners had agreed to. I'm sure more details will turn up soon.
