Anyone know a place in Lincolnshire that would be kind to a mk1 focus rs that had misplaced its catalytic converter on emissions at mot, can you please pm me? Thanks in advance

Are you sure it will fail ?
My old Rover 416 passed twice the emissions test without a cat fitted

"I was told to give it a good ragging and turn up for the mot very hot"

Yes, the trouble nowadays is not having a cat fitted is a fail, so whilst it may pass on emmisions, it needs. Blind eye turning to the missing cat, I might just put it back on, hopefully it's a straightforward job.

You can buy 'dummy' cat shells on ebay, they come in two halfs, so you don't need to remove exhaust to fit

But personally I can't see a 2ltr turbocharged car passing a cat test.

My old 306 Rallye was a very healthy engine with rebuilt head etc, that was 2ltr na and wouldn't pass a cat test no matter how hot it was.
