I'd say tiles.

I have tiles in my personal salon (kitchen).

Does it come with an mx5......

tiles have a habit of lifting so on health and safety grounds a no go really

Our local barbers has wood laminate flooring. Ikea used to do fantastically wearing stuff for a good price but they seem to have eased off a bit now.

Has to be fully waterproof laminate would be a lot more expensive to meet the criteria

Tiles! They don't lift if laid correctly!

Decent 'woodplank' vinyl by someone like Amtico - looks good and will probably outlive the life of the shop if fitted properly. If it works in places like Primark..........

A commercial vinyl floor? I know it is expensive, but shop stuff always is. Should last for many years though.
There are no cheap ways out of this one.......

Another one for vinyl. If it's a concrete floor you could always screed and paint for an industrial look, some heavy machinery would complete the look, worker's in oiled stained overalls, sparks flying. OK I'll stop.

MX5's are fantastic cars, why do I love the jokes so much?

fitted quick step laminate flooring in our salon and seems ok after 9 years
but as said earlier amtico or carndine or similar are bomb proof for commercial areas
tiles are ok but start to look tired quite quickly with the grout line showing dirt ect

amtico ect wont be cheap but you will only have to do it once

I'd vote laminate myself. Indeed I've fitted it in a hair salon. It's more than waterproof enough for a salon. Tiles are too cold and hard.

You should ask rob turner. (Laptobrob) he spends an awful lot of time in these type of places
