Car Craft Cycone- Owner appeal

As you might see from my avatar I am the owner/builder of a ( heavily modified ) CC Cyclone. These cars were mostly completed in the 99/2000 period and received many plaudits in the kit car press. There is a register run for owners by Stan Paice at: stancyclone8@yahoo.co.uk and also a website www.cc-cyclone.co.uk run by Ian Stent of Complete Kit Car magazine ( ian@performancepublishing.co.uk )
Only 32 of these kits were ever produced before commercial problems took over. However they seem to be a bit special in the kit car world ( I know I am biased! ) but maintaining the register is of interest. Given the passage of time several if not most have been passed on to second or third owners. So if anyone knows of an owner of one of these cars please encourage them to get in touch. Thanks.

There was one competing in the Harewood Hillclimb championship a couple of years ago. I always liked these

I am guessing that one or two of the Cyclone owners in Bristol are Stan Paice's son and grandson as I believe they live in that area. Either way I hope you are all in touch with Stan so that the register is kept up to date. I may be making it down to Castle Coombe for a track day later this year, any chance I might see one of you there?

Hi,
I own the green turbo - chassis 5, we also have the orange turbo and a blue N/A car. Neither are related to Stan, although I am in touch with him.
We are an active club and always out and about.

Hi there.

I own the orange CC Cyclone shown in my Avatar. I have owned many kit cars over the years but had yet to find one that comes with removable solid roof with side windows, it does not leak a drop!! Also a heater for chilly days and a little storage space. All in all a great kit car

My car has the Calibra turbo engine with 6 speed box.

johnH20, interested in how modified your car is?

In the pic, the car found an old friend from another part of the country at Stoneleigh this year.

Feel free to come along and join our friendly club, we are open to all cars.

Hi BKCC. Saw your car and the green one yesterday. Unfortunately when I passed by around 1.30 there was no one near your car so I guessed you were lunching or something. Just my luck as I would have appreciated a chat.
My car is No. 30 and only just complete. It has been my retirement project over many years with lots of other things getting in the way. A summary spec includes: New foam filled semi structural nose cone, associated shortened front bonnet with new hinging arrangement, relocated fuel tank into the front central 'luggage compartment', various front end structural reinforcements, inboard set to steering column, new instrument panel, anodised alloy cockpit (non) trim ( after the style of my Lotus Elise ), Ford racing Puma engine and gearbox and a raft of structural changes to accommodate, own design rear suspension based on Ford Escort front knuckles, heavily modified engine cover and lower back panel. The car runs on 13 in wheels and weighed in at 585 kg dry. That is the short list but needless to say there are literally hundreds of minor changes associated with the above.
I drove the car out of the garage on May 2 and it had been my intention to trailer it to Stoneleigh but the weather forecast was so bad that I decided against it. As it turned out Monday was fine of course. I am now in the process of getting my IVA paperwork together. I have a shake down test day booked at North Weald airfield for end May so please keep your fingers crossed for me.

That really is an impressive list of modifications . Shame we missed you at Stoneleigh, it would have been nice to catch up. I actually saw yet another green one there and a white one too as they were leaving.

Be really interested in seeing some pics of your mods and please feel free to join the BKCC, it would be good to have another Cyclone to add to the growing list which is actually now 4 including Ian Stents from CKC.

I had a standard Puma engine in a Sylva Riot, very nice. The racing one will suit the Cyclone well.

Hope the IVA goes well.

I saw a grey Cyclone on my way to Stoneleigh on the A45 or the A14 going in the opposite direction but didn't see it at the show. Nice looking cars

There's a maroon coloured one that sprints with us up north. I'll check entries and find out his name!

Here we go:

I was on the BKCC stand on Sunday, but it looks as though Cyclone day was Monday! Had a riot driving in the rain on the way back - roof on, radio on, dry as bone inside, slippery as hell outside

It is a great car.
