Locost Shipping

I fairly regularly drive up and down the country to visit friends and family. Usually I'm full of kit but sometimes I'm driving a 4x4 with almost nothing in it for 500 miles.

In previous groups we've done something like:
3 days in advance you post an "I'm going from X to Y on this date". If anyone wants anything carrying, for beer tokens or free, they post up where they are along the *route and ask to stick something in the boot.

Shipping a diff or a box can be costly, this can help.

*normally they'll make an effort to get as close to the original route and time as possible!

Naturally this requires both ends to be flexible as if you're on another journey you don't want to be waiting around for 45 minutes for the recipient to come back from the pub etc. Also relies on the sender being willing to trust the member.

We have done this in the past and it seemed to work well.
I am currently travelling over to the north east every weekend to hospital visit and again a decent sized car with only 1 occupant.
