P.S. Did you get the IRS done?

Did you use my dimensions?

Looks like a very strong design. Are the rear uprights alloy?

phelpsa - 3/1/05 at 07:06 PM

Steel I would say.

Hi to all.

No didnt use anyones dimensions in the end.Read all the books and came up with my own, although length of bottom wishbone within a few mill of Johnn's.

Irs has 2 degrees inclusive toe-in inbuilt.Top wishbone uses a transit track rod end as per front for camber adjust, also built in some height adjustment on inner wishbone mountings to allow for road/track adjustment.I will post clearer full assembly pics as i take them.

Happy new year to all.

Ps.

Uprights are cnc machined in steel and as seen in the pics, they sit together like a jigsaw prior to fillet welding on outer face.

Will hopefully have them finished and dry assembled with wishbones before weekend so will post more pics then.

If anyone wants cad drawings for the work so far U2U me.I can send in DXF or DWG.

Front end will have inboard shocks and a heavily re-worked chassis.

Thanks mate. What's the impetus, aside from it being fun/cool, to design and build your own uprights? Weight, geometry?
