wheels hitting

Morning all

Whilst playing around last night turning the steering wheel I noticed it possible to get the wing stays to hit the wishbones.

I've read about using springs for temporarily sorting out self centreing but what method should be used to prevent the wheels being turned so far.

Is there a solution available off the shelf which is suitable as a permenant fix rather than a short temporary job and where do you get the items from.

We put some spacers over the Steering rack on either side. Restricting movement between steering arm socket and steering Casing. They are about 3mm thick... so stopping lock just a little bit sooner than normal.

We made them ourselves so not available off the shelf.

You just need a spacer making for the rack to shroten the Maximum travel.

check your steering rack is centred alwell, mine wasn't and was only hitting on one side, when i centrered it it was fine

i used jubilee clips to stop that happening.

Same, two on either side. They are still doing the job a year on.

thanks for the help, where do the jubille clips go exactly on the rack?

Any photos of them in situ so I can copy the set up.

Have a look at 2 piece split shaft collars...they should be perfect.
