Help! I cant get the propshaft off the sprocket adapter!!
Sloan85 - 7/4/13 at 10:48 AM

I need to take the sprocket adapter off as there is too much movement on the splined shaft (I think I need to add a washer). I have undone the 4no bolts holding the propshaft to the sprocket adapter but the two are stuck together. How can I separate them? Tried WD40 and hitting the edge of the propshaft with a hammer and screwdriver but the two just wont separate.

Any suggestions??

Cheers!!

Sorted it.

If in doubt, use a bigger hammer!!

I'd be looking at a very thin chisel, or a wallpaper scraper hammered into the join.

While its off drill and tap a couple of 6mm holes. Then you can then screw bolts into them in the future to seperate the two halves.

Put it in a low gear and push the car rocking it backwards and forwards.

Put the brakes on and start the engine
