Prop tube diameter

Typically, what tube diameter is used for a two piece BEC prop?

The front section on mine looks pretty skinny compared to some other's ive seen....its only 40mm dia. whereas I see Bailey Morris's standard tube dia is 50.8mm.

40mm sounds small. Don't know what mine is but 50+ I'd guess from memory (it's a Bailey Morris prop). Where did your come from?

Yeah mine is from Bailey Morris also. Bought it years ago and think I just asked for BEC spec 2-piece prop.

Found the old order paperwork recently and noticed that their standard BEC props have 50.8mm tubes and indeed the rear section on mine has a 50.8 tube going into the TRT. Maybe best give them a call.

1 inch = 25.4mm so 2 inches = 50.8mm.

Not sure why they'd use imperial and not metric diameter tube though.

Yeah I thought the 40mm tube might actually have been 1.5" dia (38.1mm), but sure enough it's 40mm.

Had a chat with Bailey Morris earlier and apparently it's not uncommon for the bike props to use a 40mm tube in the short front section. Still looks quite skinny to my eye though.

If the front and rear tube diameters are similar to the prop in the photo below, it will be fine for at least 13 years use.
