Quaife reverse box play

Hello,
I have recently purchased a used Sylva Phoenix R1 with Quaife reverse box.
There is a play of about 8 mm between front and rear flange when forward gear is engaged.
Is this okay or how can I adjust it.
Regards
Stefan

That will be the normal play between the gear engagement dogs.

Yep my quafe has a lot of rattle,it's fitted as standard on all their boxes. Rotational play is normal the thing to check is play side to side on the input/output. I had a bearing go.very early on which they replaced.
