Sierra disc question
Bigboystoys - 30/8/17 at 06:02 PM

Good evening all,

I'm trying to find out if a pair of 2wd 283mm sierra cosworth discs will fit to the front of my Dax rush? I believe it currently has standard sierra hubs with 4x4 discs and the dax caliper mounting plate mod.
I have a set HiSpec RS114-4 Radial 280 calipers on the way complete with mounting kit for a 283mm disc but just checking this will fit a 2wd sierra cossy disc and I won't have to buy hi spec specialist discs. Their sales team seem a little unsure.
Also does anyone know the ferodo ds2500 pad part number for the above calipers please?

Thanks Sam

the dax upgrade kit uses the cossie 4x4 discs which have a very different offset to the 2wd ones

the 2wd ones would end up about ~19mm closer to the upright than the 4x4 cossie one - nearer to where the stock sierra 240/260mm discs would sit (but not exactly the same as the stock ones either)

I've got a pair of 2wd cossie discs I can check sizes on if need be

if your fitting the caliper mounts direct to the hubs then these won't be off the shelf brackets anyway
but the 4x4 are only 5mm diameter smaller anyway...

the cossie 283mm discs:

the cossie 4x4 discs:

and the stock sierra discs your uprights are meant to have:

In general its easy to get / make brackets for radial mount calipers to suit whatever discs you need - so I'd say pick either the 2wd or 4x4 discs based on which one make the smallest / least clumsy bracket design

Thank you very much for the info, I have saved the images for future ref, I think I will take delivery of the calipers and brackets mount it all up and see what options I have in term of what is gong to fit best disc wise.
Many thanks Sam
