Doh

Well technically, most of our cars are mid engined as the enge is behind the front wheels (definition of mid engine according to clarkson)

Dangle_kt - 27/2/10 at 12:04 PM

so only audi's are FWD?

speedyxjs - 27/2/10 at 01:01 PM

No, alot of cars have the engine over the front wheels

I'm sure the weather is playing a part in it but Spring is upon us...

kb58 - 27/2/10 at 04:23 PM

I'm hard at work on my middie, Midlana, but don't post here real often. It has its own site at http://www.midlana.com/

Mid-engined definition.....

Engine between front and rear axles but BEHIND the driver

....any car with the engine in front of the driver is FRONT engined, even if it is right on CoG.

Traditional definition and one I will defend to my death....

Gakes - 27/2/10 at 04:44 PM

Hey guys

nice to see u guys still buzzing around. i forgot about the climate difference.

Cheapracer, post some pics, looking fwd to seeing ur progress

Alan B - 1/3/10 at 12:49 AM

Cheers,

So far so good, but it's only been on local dirt roads so far....it's certainly fast that's for sure...but I figured you'd guess that...

Gakes - 1/3/10 at 06:13 AM

Alan, What is the overall weight so far?

Alan B - 1/3/10 at 12:22 PM

Guessing/estimating around 1300 pounds

After far too many years procrastinating, I am finally starting a 90% version of this.

It shows up in my photo archive, if not here.

stuleah - 2/3/10 at 07:42 AM

wow that looks nice, will it be for the road or just track?

Neville Jones - 2/3/10 at 11:03 AM

That's similar. The original design had a bit more shape at the front, before the aero guys got at it, and is a little more shapely and prettier.

I'm doing it as a (cramped) two seater cockpit size, as the original was, with the aim of mainly track use, but road as well.

I want to do a full size after, for car engines. The original was for a Peugeot 2l on a Hewland box. Audi comes quickly to mind.

The only big problem is headlight location, to meet height regs, and still keeping good looks.

Cheers,
Nev.

lol

I know that, i was just trying to dig myself out of a hole

stuleah - 3/3/10 at 06:21 PM

sounds good, the height of the headlights do look like they would be a problem, sure youll find a way round it.

cheapracer - 7/3/10 at 03:26 AM

I'm not big with the photo shoots - this is more representitive of where it's going even though it's they are older shots.
