Nights are pulling in and I am thinking about starting a new project next year. Something with some good engineering to get my teeth into but not to heavy on the wallet.

I love production cars and I've got a couple to play with at the moment but I want more.

So I've bought the high speed low cost book. But here is the question ? What can a Terrapin be used for once built ?

No use as a track day car being open wheeled, and the only sprint/hill climb class series I see it fitting into (class F) I don't see it being competitive in any way.

Like the locost, I don't actually plan on racing it I just love its creation

I had the same thoughts last year but for the use it would get (sprints) I have decided to build another kitcar (MNR Vortx) next year.

P.S They would be accepted on track days with cycle wings on but you may as well use the locost for that!

blyton sprint series. im competing in the radical next year and id imagin a terrapin will be much quicker! the chances are you not be competative no matter what your in with a limited budget unless you buy a cheap production car. the sprint/hillclimbers are seriously quick so blyton sprint a great intro.
last year there was 2x sighting laps, 2x practice runs and 7x timed runs. good value at £125

I've got that book and often wondered the same thing, but I always came back to the same thought 'who would build a hill-climb car in the Fens?'

Seriously though, I think with all the current possibilities of making a road going single seater, surely using a terrapin (or one of its variants) as a base makes much more sense then starting with an un-known chassis design.

blyton is the place to be if your in lincs ...

look at the mk5 if you want a full body.

itll need a bike engine to be competitive...

It seems a bec Lmp style mk5 is the way forward, I may even get my fat arse in a mk5
