eh?

Contact the police, contact ebay with the crime ref number and get the buyers details.

The police will seize it as stolen goods.

I don't know the bloke and hope its as simple as that, but I'm guessing there is more to the story than meets the eye with that one.

Dispute over bill payment / vehicle collection and subsequently sold by the garage???

deanwelch - 28/3/10 at 08:09 PM

i quess its about an unpaid bill...............

Marcus - 28/3/10 at 08:12 PM

OK, I suspect the car was sold to pay off a debt incurred by the owner, that would be the only legal way of selling the car (that I can think of) if it doesn't belong to you. The garage would have had to inform the owner of their position and intentions beforehand and give the owner reasonable time to make good any debt.

Of course I could be waaaaay off the mark here....

The V5 would need to be in the Garage name, or as sold to a dealer before they could sell it. If they dont have the V5, how can they sell it?

Even legally, for them to take posession, they would need to go to court.

The V5 only says who the registered keeper of the car is.
somewhere on the form it says that the registered keeper is NOT necessarilly the owner.

If it's registered in the first place. From the pictures it's not road legal in it's current state.

Not too sure what is happening, but the 'new owner' has made contact with the 'old owner' & they have come to an agreement for the 'old owner' to take possession back. So it looks like it has ended in happiness not tears.
