Having ripped out the old wiring loom from the KC (a mangled example of the Mk2 escort loom) I have been re-wiring the whole car from scratch. Last
night I started her up for the first time and she turned over first time.
Chuffed to bits!!! Just have to finish off the last few jobs with the wiring (hazard and headlight switches) and she'll be good to go.
Cheers

Good stuff. I much prefer doing my own loom rather than bodging a standard one to do what i want it to do. I bet a pretty high proportion of kit car issues are electrical, and once you really sort your loom properly i bet you will have far fewer issues.

Only when you wire a live to an earth and it all catches fire !!!
Well done - last car I wired (from a new loom) took three months
I hate electrics cuz you cant see whats wrong - unless you release the `magic smoke`
I'd have to agree with Claire, electrics are sent by Beelzebub to torture us.
I'm wiring the single seater at the moment and I hate every minute of it!

I didn't find it too bad, just need to take a slow and systematic approach to it. It's also made a lot easier in the KC as there
aren't many circuits to think about (especially as it's a carb'd x-flow so no ECU etc), not like a production car with elecy windows /
mirrors / etc etc!
