I now have a car on the road in California!

Recent message from one of my customers re a Furore F1 in the States

"The Furore aka hot rod is officially a California registered car. Not only that but it is also Smog exempt."

I assume it's Smog exempt due to engine age, tho' I know little of the registration process over there except it differs wildly from State to State, still nice to know that they can get on the road in California, which is known for being a less than car friendly state!

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

I think that each year they allow a certain number of smog exempt registrations but you need to apply on the day (or soon after) they are released as they are very popular

Not a lot more to tell really.

The car was originally built by a guy in his 70's. Part built over here then taken to Arizona to finish the build (he spends 6 months in Az & 6 over here) where it has been on the road for the last couple of years. Recently sold to this guy in California who has bought a few bits off me to spruce the car up a bit.

It's taken hime a while to get it registered in California, but from my point of view it's just good to hear the cars still on the road & that CA is another place ones been registered!

Well done!

Trying to figure out if I can get my 1/2-built MNR into Arizona if I take a job there. Currently we're in the Netherlands...
Looks like it's absolutely not possible if the engine is with it, but maybe if it goes without any engine, but the rules are very, very unclear (to me).

Congratulations,

Steve, in the NLs

The guy who originally built the car took it to Az as a rolling chassis with the corners removed, he made a point of buying an engine out there so it would have all the emissions stuff on it - but when it came to test they just looked to see if it had all that gubbins & a CAT on it & never actually tested the emissions at all!
