Southampton Meet

Morning, do the guys from the Soton area still meet up in the New Forest on a Tuesday. I've tried searching the forum but can't find anything recent.

Would be great to meet some like minded people now I have the 7 back on the road for the summer!

Good to hear, as I am just about to move down to Soton to start a new job on the IofW. The South Brum meet has been ace, so I was a bit worried there were no builders in the Soton area!

There should be a few of us there tomorrow evening :-)

Sir John Barleycorn
Just off Jn1 M27

Think the task of reminding folks in the clubs and events section changed hands a few times..hence it not appearing recently when you searched, but still held on the second Tuesday of the month

Theres also a group calling themselves Solent Sevens that seem to have regular(ish) meets around the area, but have not managed to get along to a meet to see if its a Caterham exclusive club or informal with all marques welcomed with open arms.

I think I parked next to a bunch of them during one of the Wickham Square boxing day doos...
They didn't move me along despite my car lowering the tone and letting the side down somewhat and they seemed a decent enough bunch

Tybrow, theres a few of us down this way and mostly a pretty chatty bunch
When are you moving?

Regards
Rob

Just like my real age :-)

Will you be coming along as I have something I would like to show you?
(been meaning to ring you since last summer, but seem to have misslaid you card)

A local chap has given me a tool box (seems very old) which has a mystery tool contained whithin
he suspects the toolkit is out of a very old car and the special device may be used to push bearings out...but is just a guess

Wondered if I were to bring it along whether anyone at your place could shed any light on who/what/when etc?

No rush as I've had it amost a year and keep promising I would take it with me next time I go along to the museum

I will bring it along incase you are coming

Regards
Rob

I'm moving on the 1st, although I have to start work down there the week before. Glad to hear there is an active meet still going on. I had a feeling it was at the John Barleycorn. Should be ideal, as I'll be renting in Totton, so no need to thrash the BEC on the M27/M3!

Just got home now Rob.......so no, not tonight unfortunately!
I've U2U'd my numbers so we can sort it......or Rob, OR, come on round with the mystery tool sometime, that way you can laugh at my lack of build progress and shame me into getting on with it!
