Another J15 passes IVA - First time!

Went for my IVA this morning at nottingham, and passed first time. Iam very happy with that.
The guy there, Andy was an absolout star, pointing little things out to fix there and then. But then came the brake bias test which i failed misserably. He tried a few more times then gave me an hour to fix it, which i did. I knocked out the balance bar split pins and wound more front bias on untill it passed. Massive credit to Andy for the chance to sort it.

Also thanks to this forum and members for the info and help to get me to this point.

Drove to DVLA and filled in the forms and they will post me my tax disc and log book in 48 hours.
Busy day!

Heres a pic at IVA...

Many congratulations, J15s seem to be coming thick and fast now! Which engine did you fit?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..............I'm so wanting to get my car on the road, but think next spring is a reasonable target.

Well done for getting the car through....sorry, going to ask again....what was the weight?

Congratulations mate. Great feeling!! I hope I get my reg no. and tax in a couple of days. The DVLA in Leeds are talking about wanting to inspect the cars engine and chassis numbers!

Hopefully see both cars at Stoneleigh! Red is a popular colour :-)

Yup had to take mine to the DVLA office for them to check the engine and VIN numbers, which of course are on the IVA cert anyway. Chatting to the DVLA inspector I asked what would happen when all their regional offices close, I think at the end of this year. Oh, he said, it will be done by VOSA at the IVA examination. What a farce.

I was lead to believe, they'd been told by Swansea that they didn't need to inspect again and should accept the IVA as proof. I think that memo has since been misplaced by some offices as some want to inspect and some don't.

My car weighed 530kg with 20L of petrol.

At nottingham DVLA they said I didnt need the car inspecting, so happy about that. I did flood them with paperwork though, so must have been enough to satisfy them. 48 hours to receiving my tax and log book.

I dont know if i will make it to Stoneleigh but we will see
