Yes its scam, i get them evey week and thunderbird flags them as junk. Avg deletes the attached zip and goes mental.

There's a new one coming in with instructions for your upcoming court appearance, same thing, see the attached file for details.

Delete, delete!

Worrying that they manage to get people's addresses though. Someone must really be ignoring the Data Protection Act in a big way for this data to get into the hands of scammers.

The copy of the court notice is attached to this letter.
If you do not attend the hearing the judge may hear the case in your
absence.

Truly yours,
Clerk to the Court.

Colloquially and circumstantially, it often gets put out there that 'BT' seem to be perpetrators in the provision of details. However, from the tidal wave of junk coming down the landline (phone plug now pulled overnight) it seems many bodies are passing on your details. It's overseas too, now, of course.

My 'accident', 'computer virus', 'debt', 'court appearance', 'bank account', 'insurance claim', 'timeshare' , 'divorce', are just only a few of the things that I keep needing help with.

The fraud, spam and scam onslaught is just too much. I wish I could put them all in a field and do something Kenny Everett suggested, but now that's probably politically incorrect.

What has dried up now is the hard mail (the paper sort) that used to fill the real mailbox. I guess it's now just too expensive for the scammers.
