Can anyone tell me, do you put a switch on the transponder or wire it so its permanently on thanx john

most I have have seen have been directly wired. All mine have been directly wired.
So, ignition on equals transponder on.

A switch is optional, but certainly not a requirement.

I would also connect it into a switched live somewhere in the loom - an extra switch for the Transponder is an extra thing to forget to do in the heat of the moment!
