Is it a legal requirement to have a spare wheel on my car? I'm building an Indy by the way.

Oh good I was hoping i wouldnt need one! Instant tyre repair sounds much better - keeps the weight down and I won't be left stranded with a flat! (hopefully)

Cheers guys

it might help weight distribution if your car is rear end light, apart from that, flats are fairly rare, arnt they....

Mine is having one as the rear end would look wrong (too big an expanse of metal) if it didnt....

Our foreman at work used to be a green flag recovery man, almost all the flat tyres he attended were on tyres which had less than 3mm tread left, probably due to the extra rubber, age of the tyre, and the deflective nature of the tread pattern.

Any one else noticed this?
