Bummer didn't work.

Anyway someone get this bought and entered in RGB. There's a good spread of pace through the field for you to still be able to have fun in a front engined car, plus we have a few more front engined cars set to return.

watsonpj - 29/5/19 at 11:55 AM

I give up i can't explain it either, normally works fine unless someone has already used the code.

Pete

Click on the picture to view it, then right click on the picture and on most browsers (ie chrome) will have a 'copy image address' or similar. Click that, then you can paste the actual image URL in to the [ img ] tags.

Really, who? And in what?

Yazza54 - 29/5/19 at 04:37 PM

There's a new David Watson who's a complete novice in the spire GTF, Alan churchyard is joining us in a Fury half way through the season and a new chap is joining with a phoenix but may not be til next year unless he has a run out back end of this year.

There's still plenty of good racing to be had and something like this would be a great introduction to the formula for little initial outlay.

Can have the fastest car going but if you can't peddle the thing you won't find yourself at the sharp end.

Interesting - having built my car with RGB in mind, I’d dismissed it. It would be great to see some front engined kits back.

Yazza54 - 29/5/19 at 04:51 PM

I don't really understand why all the front engined cars disappeared, there's still trophies for top front engined cars and they have a lower weight limit, they have never been excluded from racing

Sadsy - 29/5/19 at 05:52 PM

Here is a few images I’ve put on Pinterest. If you open the album there’s a few images to look at. I will add to this and anyone wanting videos I can send direct via WhatsApp, email eta

There are no front engine cars because the RGB (Road Going Bike!) formula was manipulated and abandoned it roots and turned into a development race to rival Formula 1 and you can only do so much with a front engined car.

Yazza54 - 30/5/19 at 11:38 AM

Formula 1! Haha. Matt higginson seemed to do ok...

I will admit you are putting yourself at a disadvantage in a front engined car in terms of the over all championship but there are pots for F cars to race for every round and it's a much cheaper way to access the formula and cut your teeth than buying a rear engined car.

ArthurR - 30/5/19 at 11:48 AM

He didn't actually win any races, but he did come first in class in every race which gave him maximum points and so he won the championship, much to the delight of the rear engined cars drivers (not!). So in response they did away with the class.

Yazza54 - 30/5/19 at 12:23 PM

Something had to be done. Whether it was merging or making the championships completely separate. It's not about F Versus R cars, the problem was in my eyes that it was possible to win the overall championship by just turning up and beating the other F cars, of which there weren't many and Matt probably could have done blindfolded. So no, I suppose the rear engined car drivers probably weren't that happy bout it!

ArthurR - 30/5/19 at 12:58 PM

If there wasn't a championship cup, just an F cup and R cup there wouldn't have been a problem we could have carried on with two classes but the big problem was changing what RGB was mean to be, fast and affordable racing.

Yazza54 - 30/5/19 at 01:12 PM

It's faster now and still affordable. The initial outlay on a car is fairly big (as it is in any racing if you want to be at the sharp end) but the formula running costs are good. Is a new Arion that much cheaper than a spire or mittell..?

Personally I'd have been happier if they just completely separated the championships but keeping R & F classes...but I can see why they felt the need to change it. I suppose the issue of separating the championships but running together would be that people would be stuck racing someone on track that they weren't actually racing for position, but plenty of other formulas have that without any issues, sport specials for example.

Does the cage on this car meet the latest Motorsport UK rules?

Sadsy - 1/6/19 at 08:46 AM

Hi everyone, the package is provisionally sold. The cage was made in 2013-14 so I can’t answer that question.
