Engine Number not Visible

Due to relocating the alternator on my CVH the engine number isn't visible without removing the alternator.
What is the best bet for IVA as they will need to see the number to verify the age? Would they take a picture, ask to remove the alternator (a PITA) or stamp in an alternative location? If the latter is it hard to do?

thanks

M

My tester used his phone to take a picture, can you get a phone in there once the alternator is in place?

There's virtually no gap about 10mm you just can't see it!

Think you'd need to check with the testers.
But I'd have thought a series of pictures taken, alternator off an back on in stages that leave no doubt that its this car and engine would suffice.
Or take a handy boroscscope!!
Definitely no stamping IMHO!
