haynes roadster questions

Good evening all

i have finaly got back on with finishing my build after a long break.

I had intended fitting the indicator repeater lights in the end of the wing mirrors (CBS type) i have read tonight that the repaeters have to have a E mark is this the case ? what solutions have you used on your roadsters ?

also i have fitted repaters in the scuttel panel (pre IVA) can these stay or do i need to remove for test?

I am also looking to replace the master cylinder as its the old sierra one
i have wilwood powwr lite calipers on the front and the larger sierra drum brakes on rear which i intend changing to Ford KA wheel cylinders with a smaller bore
does any one have any advise on master cylinder selection idealy a ford unit to match the pipe work and any part numbers?

Gaz

Hi,

As far as I know you are only allowed one set of side repeaters, so one each side.
Mine, fitted to the front cycle wings, were bought from China and are LED types, and they passed the IVA without any issues.

No idea about brake cylinders though.

I think the only lights that must be E or e marked are rear fogs.
but headlights using gas discharge or led need to be marked or have "evidence of compliance with the technical requirements "

leds for the other lights should all be fine

and just one side repeater.

RE: the brake cylinders, probably worth you searching on the Haynes Roadster Forumtoo, there has been lots of previous posts about cylinders.

Mk1 Fiesta (non servo) master cylinder is one that comes up as a recommendation, or there's a Fiat one people use too I think. All European stuff would be m10x1.0 fittings, so compatibility shouldn't be an issue.

I was quite lucky with my old repeaters, they were 20mm so blind grommets fitted perfectly
