cortina brakes

i have a set of cortina uprights and looking at poss fitting some peugeot 306 gti calipers. these fit onto the up rights fine, will just need spacing back a little. but i need some vented discs about 260ish mm maybe a touch more..

anyone know if they make some?

ISTR Peugeot calipers almost fit the hole pitch is about 2 mm out.

Fit perfectly on my cortina uprights! I'm running the ali bodied bendix ones with early base model cortina (241x9.5) discs though.

Dont fit the hub.

I'm sure one of the wilwood kits uses a 260mm disc now I think about it!

You could get some 306 GTI-6 discs (they are quite cheap) which have the correct 108pcd and them skim them down from 283mm to 260mm in a lathe.

Sierra 2.0 autos and xr4i use 260mm instead of the std 240mm and vented.

my major problem is finding what will bolt to the hub, but thank you for the ideas, i will order them in and see what fits

Try looking at 406 coupe 2.2, they are of a 283mm size and have a useful off set off 2mm which will bolt to the back of the hub in the same way as the original did.

Look at some threads i did, i want to use brembo calipers on mine.

None of the sierra etc discs will work.

The only thing i can think of is that peugeot discs are quite low offset. You might be able to redrill them to mount onto the back of the hub properly. Other than that custom discs could be the only way.

was looking at that, the sierra discs come and a few others but none will bolt up the way i need. the peugeot one will fit if redrilled i think. but also centre bore drilling out a little.

may have to look at the saxo vtr brakes i have knocking about somewhere, see how they line up with the cortina discs before i start hacking away at everything

I have looked into this quite a bit, look for the tread on here regarding 300mm discs, my conclusions came to the 406 coupe non Brembo discs which I reckon will bolt on from the back and I should get away with 15's using the fiat coupe calipers on the cortina hubs.
