Nitron GTS coilover bushes
UncleFista - 17/11/07 at 10:54 PM

There's been a few posts in the past about replacement bushes for GTS/Nitron shocks. The original rubber bushes are weak, and it's not long before they start to fail.

Ideally there'd be somewhere that sold replacement poly bushes to fit, but after lots of searching and a number of totally ignored emails to bush suppliers, we had no luck finding any of the correct size.

What we need is something along the lines of this

The closest we could find was from Superflex, the internal and external diameters are correct, they're just too long.

So, armed with 8 new bushes, a drill press, and a stanley knife, we stuck a piece of dowel in the chuck and used the knife to slice the bushes to the correct length.

When fitted they look like this

And hey presto, a full set fitted and ready for the MOT

Now I know someone will be along now to say I could've bought a full set of the correct size for half of sod-all from somewhere, but this was our solution, and only cost 30-odd quid
