Gauging interest: bolt on front ARB kit for JPSC cars
bi22le - 5/1/16 at 07:51 PM

In about a month (after I have done a trackday to get base data) I am going to design the mounts for a front ARB to fit my striker.

I can't weld but after having a look I recon I can design a bolt on set up that requires only chassis drilling. I am going to use a Caterham S3 ARB hopefully as these are designed properly for the approx weight of our cars, caterham also offer off the shelf altunative strengths which would suit CEC Fury as heavier cars and BEC strikers as lighter cars.

I will be fitting one to my car and carry out some real life testing, combined with using legit caterham parts and top quality rose joints it won't be some speculative Chinese max power crap. I want it to WORK PROPERLY!!

I guesstimate that all parts painted and delivered to your door would be around £250. 4X drilled holes later the ARB could be fitted.

Is there much interest in this?

Obviously front springs would have to also be changed.

Rob Farley already makes a front ARB for a Striker

Jeff, I can't find rob Farley, do you have a website link?

Thanks for other feedback.

Maybe I need a rethink. Not about getting kits together for others, I don't care if they are over priced. More do I go Caterham ARB or other.

I do still have reservations about simply linking two sides together as per other designs I have seen. The torsional forces really need to be dialed in and not just slapped on.

Very simple design for an ARB on that striker. It is a lowered chassis version.
Wayne was this along the same lines as yours?
My issues will be with an ARB for the rear of mine.

The same kit fits Strikers, Phoenix, Stylus and Fury.

I have the early Chapman rear strut IRS, leaves little room for linkages. Wayne will chat about your ideas on saturday :-)

Not sure if Rob still does the kits or not but I may be interested in yours depending how it works/ fits so always interested in what you come up with.

Looking like i may be able to get these made up for 200.

I just need to actually get one built!! These may also fit the rear as well.

Updates coming in due course.
