Anyone know before I start how the half shafts are held in on suzuki jimny rear axles?

For anything Jimney, Big Jimney...

Cheers, read that before thanks..

Just done it, turns out they are the same as old rwd escorts. Back plate holds the bearing in, bearing is retained on the shaft by a shrinking collar...

Undid the nuts holding the back plate and simply one whack with a hammer and they just flopped out!

Only hard bit was the nuts holding the back plate on, start at 13mm, slip, 1/2inch on most of them, down to 12mm hammered on for one

Axle case going in the electrolysis bath next then the ends of the shafts and drums... that might take another 6 months tho... no mojo atm..

Thanks,
Steve

Japanese vehicles don't tend to have 13mm fittings, normally 12mm size for 8mm threads
