Cable run floor mounted pedal box

With the pedal box put in position the clutch pedal is close to the clutch actuating arm in the bell housing. A cable would have to bend through 180 degrees so obviously a long cable is necessary.

if anyone is running a floor mounted pedal box with a cable clutch I would appreciate any photos and information on what length cable they have used.

I ran a long Ford Capri cable prob about 48" long, in a soft loop,
Never had any issues in 21 years on the road,

I used a mk2 Escort cable on my car, been on it for 15 years or so. It goes through nearly 180 degrees .The Burtonpower website shows clutch cable lengths which may be of use?

I used a pullrod on the Locost many years ago. The engine was solid mounted though.

Funny thing, I was thinking about the very same design and in a way I would prefer a rod to a cable. Less likelyhood of a breakage at the most inconvenient time. Good point about having a solidly mounted engine which I don't have. I hadn't considered that but any engine movement could give a bit of clutch judder. So that's a downside that I hadn't thought of.

A broken clutch cable, is not a problem, as its pretty easy to drive a manual car with out a working clutch, and ive done so at least twice,
sticking rods and stuff in the mix, will make an on the road repair fo the AA or like, a real PITA

Cable it is Steve and on my car I'll make it very accessible if it ever needs to be changed.
