Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Small Screen?
speedyxjs - 4/2/08 at 06:45 PM

I brought a new head unit for my car in a moment of stupidity. I went to fit it then realised that the motorised screen wouldn't go past my gear lever when in park so i now have it for sale on fleabay (linky)
Part of the reason i bought this is so that when we go to scotland in april, my sister will have a much better chance of being able to park my car if i fitted a mini camera to the rear bumper.
I now have a new idea of finding a really small (say 2 - 2.5ish inch) screen and mount it in the dash.
I can find a camera easily on the bay but i cant seem to find a small screen.
Does anyone on here know where i might find one?

not sure that squinting to see a 2" lcd will improve reversing any?!

IMHO, cameras just confuse people....

Get a decent DIY parking sensor kit..

I fitted one on my grans car and it has varying beeps depending on how far away you are from objects, works supprisingly well on lamp posts and trees etc...

Much more suitable!

Especially women!! concentrating on a 2" screen is not a good idea at all.

if you are a member of costco, they have some wireless reversing camera and screen packages at the moment very small and compact, look a decent bit of kit and about £50 i think

seen some nifty screens that fit in place of your sun visor with screen built in, also you can get rear view mirrors that works as a normal mirror until a video input is present at which point it turns into a screen behind the mirror. wire the power to a small bullet camera up to the reserve light (via a relay) and job done. i am sure you can get these on flea bay

Halfords do a headunit with a smallscreen buil in (not a flippy uppy jobby) but a fixed 2 or 3 inch screen on the face of the unit.
