Grease Sierra (tripod) push-in splines?

Hi guys,

I'm guessing that you're not supposed to since I can't find anything that says you should, but:

Are the splines of tripod Sierra diff' driveshafts supposed to be greased or just gear-oiled before being pushed into the diff'?

If we ARE supposed to grease them, what type of grease is appropriate? I'm guessing that it has to be compatible with the Quaife ATB special oil (which I cannot remember right now).

Thanks!!!

They shouldn't need grease on the splines but I always put a small amount on the snap ring can to help hold it centered and line up easier and a small amount around the oil seal lip. Can't see it being an issue mixing with the oil.

Thanks Adithorp,
That's essentially what my local mechanic said, yesterday.
Cheers!
