Maxi ball joint taper torque setting

Hi All,

What torque setting for the maxi ball joint taper nut (in sierra upright correctly modified by MK)?

Don't know if there's a recommended torque for the nut, but I did mine up good and tight. IIRC they were Nyloc nuts too to try and stop them loosening over time.

Last time I did that also, but the thread is very fine, much finer than M12, so torque setting could be quite low. When tightening it always felt "odd" (like the bolt was stretching).

It was a PITA to remove, i.e. bending ball joint spliter. So it would be good to know the "correct" toque form a maxi haynes manual...

Google found the following but from form, so may still be wrong (http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/5730-torque-setting-for-various-suspension-bits/);

> Front Lower ball joint (maxi type) to wishbone? 28lbf ft 38Nm

That figure would be for the bolts securing the ball joint to the wishbone as it says not the temper securing nut.
