Avon zzr cracks

Cracks in fronts? Long splits maybe 1mm, almost looks like someone’s had a knife and run it round the tyre? Tread side, and some go almost the whole way round the tyre?

Heat cycles?

Age?

tyres have a date code, what does it say?
or post a pic of said tyre and we should be able to see it, and the damage.

edit to add, are both sides the same? and what about the rear?

Fronts only,

Will try and sort pic later and get date code!

How do I add photos from my ‘archive’ to this thread to show you?

Just spotted daye code, 26th week of 2019

Not sure if you can see the date code, I can’t see where it is, sorry it’s upside down, car is in the garage and I haven’t got much room to access the wheels from the side!

Cracks shown clearly on pics though, fronts only and there are more than 2 on each wheel, all facing the same way. I.e round the tread, not across the tread. Though some are slightly diagonal.

how close are the wheel arches, (and their mounts) to the tyre?
maybe it was a trapped stone or similar?

A few years, ago there were some issues with some Toyo 888r cracking. It was (from memory) claimed to be due to sub-zero temps over winter that contributed to it.

Both front tyres, really don’t think it’s from stones caught in the wheel arch etc…

Almost looks like someone’s taken a Stanley blade and cut them, but obviously that’s not the case!

Weird! Do they feel odd/less than rubbery ?
If it both you may have to concede using them.
They’ve not had a recent ragging have they? Someone else taking your car out when your not looking
