Gauging Interest - 750MC Race Engine

This is my spare engine from 2011.

Engine was built by a local reputable engine builder with many years experience of building crossflows and cosworths as well as rebuilding and maintaining a famous historic F1 car. Build quality and attention to detail is therefore spot on.

This engine was built as a plus 60 thou overbore and was then set up correctly by Tom Airey who is a specialist at setting up ford engines and in particular carbed engines. Engine was then tested for an entire day at Brands in Feb 2011, then removed from the car and crated. My 2nd engine was then built to exact same spec bar it being 90thou overbore and again sent to Tom Airey and set up and run in exactly the same way as the plus60 I am selling. The plus 90 raced 13 rounds plus heats and the Birkett 6 hour with no issues other than a quick check of valve clearances mid season and a new head gasket for the Birkett.

So, apologies for the history, but I think the reliability and performance of the plus 90 proves that this plus60 is a good strong engine.

With regards to power delivery, the plus60 thou gives around 300rpm more to play with at the top end over the plus90, something I found very useful at Brands Hatch for example where you would over-rev a plus90 as you head towards Graham Hill Bend, whereas the plus60 still had more to give. Peak power is slightly less than the plus 90 engine but the way it revs more than makes up for this - its a little screamer of an engine and in testing in Feb 2011 we ran cosistant sub 60 second laps around the indy circuit. I would have no issues with running this engine in the 2012 championship.

Engine is ready to drop in and use and complies fully with the 2011 and 2012 regulations. Comes with everything fitted including brand new uprated clutch, distributor running Aldon Ignitor electronic ignition, oil pump, carb etc. It really is a turn key engine - just need a starter, alternator, air filter, dizzy cap and leads.

Runs on Millers CSS 20w50.

Looking for £1750 and I will deliver to within 100 miles of Southampton free of charge.

Photos and more info available on request.
