What geo's are people running???
So got my IVA test in just over 2 weeks and I need to set the suspension geo for my Haynes Roadster. What setting can anyone recommend? I know geo
depends on many variable but this is just to get me going. My car is slightly different to a standard Haynes. My rear suspension is rose jointed on
the outer joints to allow for toe setting too.
So far I have set mine are
Front and rear Camber - 1.0 degree negative
Front Toe - 1.0 degree Negative
Rear Toe - 0.0
The Haynes roadster allows for the castor to be adjusted by rotating the "mushroom head" on the front top wishbone. What should I set this
too? and is rotating to the front positive castor or negative?

The setup should not be different for Rose joints or bushes that said with compliance bushes a bit of toe in is cancelled when the bush gives under
braking and the fronts move from toe in to near straight ahead
For IVA it's all about self centering and some of our cars arnt that good when setup for track or fast road
For IVA we often set tyre pressures high (30psi) and a bit of toe out, this give a good self centering feel at IVA

I think you will find rotating the mushroom doesn't affect the castor., as its determined by the relative position of the upper and lower ball
joints and they will stay the same. It will affect the camber though.
Phoned the local ramblers club today, but the bloke who answered just
went on and on.

Even with rose joints you need a small amount of toe-in on the rear. On the front you just want it just on the toe-in side of parallel. 1 degree is
way too much, 0.25 would be the most I would run.
The setting should be done in the normal laden condition
Rotating the mushrom will only change camber, bump & Roll steer and trail not caster.
