Side exit distributor cap

Hi all any of you ever seen the above for the motorcraft distributor as fitted to the ford x-flow 1.3 as i have twin su carbs on it and cannot fit the dist in

No, it doesd not exist. The side entry, brown cap, is available for the bosch.

I also have 1300 (we have 1 inch less height) and I have twin side draught manifold.

You can get smaller rubber capbs for the leads that allow them to be moved out of the way - the carbon type a quite flexible - plus I file a bit of the web away to reduce the angle the lead goes through.

I would advise you to fit a maplin ignitoin amp so that you don;t need to mess about changing points as it is a bit t ight underneth the manifold.

Yep, had the same problem with mine, very annoying trying to set timing when you have to take the carbs off to adjust it more than a couple of degrees!

I couldn't get the motorcraft to fit at all, got a bosch with a side cap and ground a bit off the manifold flange and now it just squeezes under.
