Does anyone know of any chassis builders in Northern Ireland. Keen to start building but my welding isn't up to scratch. I priced getting one built in England and shipped but it was stupid money for transportation.
Any advice appreciated

We have supplied many of the racers in the NI Sevens championship with parts and I know one guy (Colin Reid) had a chassis done by Crossle might be worth having a chat with him, should be able to get him through the NI Sevens community - they have a website and run out of Kirkstown - if you struggle let me know and I will see if I can get details to you in u2u.

TBH I started my project with poor welding skills but you soon learn as you go..... of course by the time I got to the end and saw how much better every was I went back and ground out everything from the start and began all over again if you happen to be about the Ards peninsula I'm very happy to share what I've learnt. I also went to an evening class in Bangor tech which basically allows you to use all their equipment and I could then tig weld fuel tank, turn steering extensions on the lathe etc.

That is the other angle - practice welding and it soon improves in my experience.
