been looking at bike engined mini,s and had the pleasure of a bussa smart today, got me thinking............. mini,s are rusty and expensive ,so a
lightweight rot free shell is needed, something a bit different?

about 6lz/£ makes them well cheap and being made of plastic they wont rot.
what does the panel think?
Different!!
Why have you been looking at bike engined mini's?

Trabant would be an interesting starting point... probably need to chuck everything away except the shell in order to end up with something that
drives OK

Look at the angle of the driveshaft!
I may be completely wrong but I have an idea that Trabants are made of compressed paper and a collision at 25mph is certain death.
I await the flak!!!

Have you seend the gsxr powered Smart 4TWO on youtube
I heard wood pulp and fibreglass resin, also that they absorb water and swell up in the wet
its something called duraplast, they seem to last pretty well despite the winters they have to endure, ive seen one burnt to a crisp.
as to the crash worthiness, never seen a dented one
jo is coming over in jan,ill get her to drive one over

From the club (found by google I hasten to add )
Trabants are constructed on a steel body shell with outer panels made of Duraplast which is a plastic resin (related to Formica and Bakelite)
reinforced with cotton fabric making a material similar to GRP, but being a dry process, with each panel made using a press, was much more suited to
mass production. Trabants are NOT made of papier-mache, cardboard or hardboard as some people believe. Their twin cylinder two stroke engine has only
five moving parts, gives good acceleration and will allow surprising average speeds to be maintained.

Be brave how about a busa powered 2CV! Or even a Motoguzzi big twin or BMW flat twin or 4? Might have to devise some anti-roll bars though

Since when did a Hayabusa have a semi auto box

didn't anyone see, i think it was 5th gear, they tried to roll a 2cv, the only way they managed to do it was in reverse!
Top gear however did manage to rol a rascal, and that wasn't the idea either!
