Coolant plumbing hayabusa
noc231073 - 27/12/11 at 08:56 AM

Right just fitting my engine back into my car after fitting the dry sump
Two question?
1. After remove the water pump I need to fit an electric pump what's the right direction of flow for the coolant I have 2 inlets to the engine 1 higher that the other . I am assuming the higher one is where the hot coolant leaves the engine to the rad and cooler coolant enters at the lower point correct? Don't want to plumb it the wrong way around.
2. Also on the original water pump there was a 10mm hoses coming from the centre of the pump leading to the top of the block anyone know what it was for and what do I do with it now
I can post pics if needed

Nova dry sump:-

Cooling:-

Silver tube is the return from the top of the rad. Black silicone hose from the bottom of the header tank feeds the stat housing, (stat removed, using Davis Craig digital control of the water pump). Lower connection runs to the electric pump and into the bottom of the rad.

Simple and very effective. Have run the car in 37 degree air temps and system has run without a hitch. Car to date has turned over 5000 miles.

HTH!

Theres some pics in my gallery showing a buss engine install. I used the brilliant Stewart pump, it's just brilliant and only last week did I find out that the Prodrive Subaru's use the same pump but they glue a piece of carbon over the name plate....
