Got my Quaife ATB back from Douglas at Westgarage.

Now encased in one of his 'Eccentric Adjusting Bulkhead Mount' cradles.

Excellent service, top quality engineering, and great value for money!

I'm not sure whether to fit it to the car, or mount it on the mantlepiece...

I could be in the market for one of these myself. Any chance you might accurately weigh it before it goes on the mantelpiece?

The sprocket pivot is mounted in an eccentric mount, as you rotate the both mounts the pivot moves closer or further away from the engine and thus tensions the chain.

You also get tools with the kit for turning the eccentric adjuster.

One would assume that with standard drive shafts fitted with CV's at each end it does not matter that as well as allowing for miss alignment in the up & down plane a bit of horizontal miss adjustment is also permissible, providing this is not taken to far.

The allowable movement up down, and side to side in the diff is minimal when considering wheel movement for full compression to bounce.

Is my brain working correctly on that?

I'll weigh the whole unit over the weekend.

Mine has the Quaife QDF7ZR chain-drive specific diff. This differential unit is 5.65kg by itself.

I understand that Douglas can shave about a kilo off this by using the Quaife IB5ATB diff instead (works out about the same price). I only used the QDF7ZR because I already had one.
