IVA Test day and tools to take.
AndyW - 18/8/13 at 05:55 PM

OK Guys, lets have a list of basic "must" have tools for the big IVA day.

I don't want to pack my entire tool box but where do you stop?

Screw driver set
Socket set
spanner set
Drill and drill bit selection
Rivets and rivet gun
Spare trim & glue

Please add on what you think is a must have for the IVA

Thanks

Andy

Having the same dilemma myself, depending on if you have a support vehicle you may want to consider:-

Nut covers
Photos of any hidden items
File of receipts/declaations
Spare fluid, water in particular
Jubilee clips
Insulation tape
P clips
Zip ties
Some bits of wire and elec crimps
Selection of nylocks

All the best for the test.

I went with a few basic tools and a bunch of edge trim, cable ties, gaffer tape etc.

The examiner will let you have a quick fiddle with light alignment and add a bit of trim but he won't let you rebuild the car!

My first SVA was a round 180 mile trip so i took everything i could including the jack as it was its first real run. Nothing tests the car like a real run under load.

Good luck

I'd suggest bulbs as well, how often have I had a bulb blow on the way to an MOT.
