1300 XFlow engine & 4 speed box
Alan M - 5/12/09 at 11:08 AM

As a result of my planned upgrade to 4AGE power, I will have available soon:
1. 1300 XFlow engine with 600 miles on it since full rebuild with manifold and downdraft carb
2. 4 Speed Ford Gearbox
3. twin 40 DHLA carbs and manifold
4. Bestek electronic ignition setup

Any 750MC members interested?

How much?

I'd like £175 for the engine
£50 for the gearbox
£175 for the carbs and manifold
£50 for the ignition

Any pictures of the engine? Also do you know what power it outputs?

I think the 750mc racers would be after the rocket box not the type 2 - would be interested to know if anyone has the info?

Here's the engine. It's a bog standard, rebuilt unit

Alan,

Do you know where there is a rolling road locally that can do Dellortos? I live near Daventry.

Sorry, no. I looked for details on the internet but no luck. I came across one in Northampton near Northampton Audi www.northamptonmotorsport.com

Its not as straighforward as that. I guess the majority of the grid would say that the Rocket box is preferable but someone will be using each of the Ford RWD units. For example, Max uses a Type 9 and I ran a Type 2. If you're circa 90kgs+ and struggling to get weight down to the minimum then its a good solution.

Thats interesting, where do you get spares from? I have a couple of type 2 boxes with the same failures, would love to know a contact so I can get the parts I need for them!

Sorry to Hijack the thread - the engine looks well priced by the way.

I had 3 boxes and cannibalised as needed. I found good contacts in The Escort Agency and Bob Dowen (both on Google.)

Alternatively try TMC Motorsport or Procomp on here.
