1.8 or 2.0 Silvetop Zetec (Pre 95)
Tatey - 19/9/15 at 02:36 PM

Afternoon all,

It looks like I may have a blown headgasket on my 1.8 silvertop so I am on the hunt for a new engine as I am a bit dubious to how good this engine.

Any 1.8 or 2.0 silvertop engines considered . It needs to be pre-95 as I am doing an IVA test next year so don't want to put a cat on it.

I'm located in Leicestershire but I am happy to drive.

You'll be lucky to find one these days.

Why not fix the one you've got? Could be as simple as taking the head off and a new gasket?

I have a 1800 Silvertop bottom end plus two 1800 heads sitting in my garage.

The block has a letter from Ford technical information centre confirming the engine fitted to a vehicle May 1992.

I was planning to rebuild this engine but plans have now changed, i also have parts to rebuild including new ford 2 litre cams plus hydraulic lifters.

Also new oil pump new water pump cam belt kit head bolts and gaskets.

I'm looking for £250 for the lot.

U2U me if interested.

Failing the above engines I also have one!

It is originally from a rs1800i so is the 130bhp variant.

No sump and some big end bolts removed for another engine....

I will PM a price!

Or buy a new crated blacktop, chage the cam cover and stamp your engine number on it?
